My Memories Suite Giveaway!
Have you heard of My Memories Suite?
It is an AMAZING digital scrap-booking software that is getting popular and popular each day!
I found out about them through lots of other bloggers and had always wanted to try out the software..
So when they contacted me to review and host a giveaway on my blog I was SOOOOO excited!!
They have TONS of super cute scrap-booking kits.. I've definitely visited their website a ton before, just to check out their templates.
We just started receiving holiday cards from our friends last week, and I keep thinking to my self every year "I wonder if we'll ever send out holiday cards...?" because we haven't...ever... I've wanted to, but we're just so lazy I guess..
So as a start, I've created a little holiday card with my very own copy of the software! Yay!
Not bad for my first try right?
The awesome thing is..I can just email this to everyone! Super easy!
Speaking of super easy, the software it self was easy to use as well!
It was a lot of fun experimenting with the different tools..
This is just a page out of a complete album of cute templates. (I used the "A Gift for You" template)
You can edit the backgrounds, insert your own text, shapes, and add even more photos per page!
The templates are basic outlines and you can change them according to your likings!
Of course, you can create an album from SCRATCH too!
There are many templates included in the software, but you can also buy more templates from their website at any time.
YOU can own a copy of this super fun software too ($40 VALUE!) or give your savvy friend a great Christmas present!

15 Questions To Prompt Your Gratitude
Going along with other wonderful bloggers' posts!
I'm also fortunate to have the best in-laws who have always treated me like their own daughter even before I was married to Michael. They are a huge support for me and are my family in the U.S.
1. Who do I appreciate? My absolutely patient, sweet, and hard-working husband, Michael-- who couldn't be any more perfect for me. My mom--who I just appreciate more and more as the years go by.
She has always and continues to think of my sister and I first, and does so much for us even though we're so far away from her.
2. How am I fortunate? I am SO fortunate to have A JOB, and a GOOD one!I'm also fortunate to have the best in-laws who have always treated me like their own daughter even before I was married to Michael. They are a huge support for me and are my family in the U.S.
3. What material possessions am I thankful for? I'm thankful for my laptop that allows me communicate with my mom in Japan, and watch Japanese shows that make me super happy! I'm also thankful for our keyboard (digital piano) that we bought this year. It was definitely a step up from my old one that didn't have the standard 88 keys or weighted keys. Last but not least, I'm thankful for my "new wedding ring". I lost my actual wedding ring just before our first anniversary, and was soooo depressed for a very long time... I still haven't gotten over it of course, and so I finally had to ask for a replacement ring, and Michael got it for me for my birthday. It's the exact same model as the 1st one. It has made me sort of forget that I lost my first one, and I smile when I look at it :)
4. What abilities do I have that I'm grateful for? I'm grateful for my piano/singing abilities (they must be decent enough because I get to teach them both right?) because that's how I pay the bills! ha. But of course, because they have always been and will always be my LIFE!
5. What about my surroundings (home/neighborhood/city/etc.) am I thankful for? Definitely thankful for our new guesthouse we moved in to this year! I can say it's probably the BIGGEST, most beautiful, and coziest guest house you'll ever set foot into! Both Michael and I can play/practise what ever instrument and not bother any one. What makes things even better is that the neighborhood is great, and so quiet. What a change it is from our old apartment! We're both super thankful for this.
6. What experiences have I had that I am grateful for? I solely organized and put together a big benefit concert in June for the Japan earthquake/tsunami relief. It was the first time I ever did something like this. It was a lot of work but it was SO worth it! I raised over US$1000 which I sent to the Japanese Red Cross Society. I gained so much from it and if I may so my self, I am very proud that I did this.
7. What happened today/yesterday/this week/this month/this year that I am grateful for?
Every day, I'm thankful that I get to teach what I love doing, as my job..
I'm also grateful that I could do a piano/voice recital for my students for the first time this year. Their second one is coming up soon!

8. What opportunities do I have that I am thankful for? I'm thankful that I have tons of amazing musician friends who I can jam with/play with me :) How cool is it, that you can sing with a live band all the time?
9. What have others in my life done that I am thankful for? People that have put together benefit concerts/events, donated money, volunteered, and continued to support causes in however shape or form. Personally, this year I am especially thankful for those that have helped out with the Japan earthquake/tsunami relief.

Personally, this year I am especially thankful for those that have helped out with the Japan earthquake/tsunami relief.
10. What have others done that I am benefiting from in my life (even if I don't know who those people are)? This may sound silly but I actually want to thank Mr.President for making my health insurance a way better one. We don't get any health insurance as self-employed or contracted musicians/teachers so I have to buy my own expensive insurance.. It used to be not so great and now it's changed and I know he had a lot to do with it so thank you! hehe.
11. What relationships am I thankful for? I'm thankful for my relationship with Aya, who I've known since 9th grade. She has always been there for me and is the most trust-worthy, reliable and patient friend I could ever ask for. We have a true and unbreakable bond!
I'm also very thankful for my ex-host parents Henry & Laurel that took care of me my first week here in America.. actually.. they continue to look out for me! Without them I would have died of home-sickness. They have come to every single show that I have performed at. I can not thank them enough for their love and kindness.

12. What am I taking for granted that, if I stop to think about it, I am grateful for?
MY HEALTH! I am grateful that I live pretty darn healthy each day (besides my nasal allergies, weird foot cramps, my belly that blows up after I eat etc..)

13. What is there about the challenges/difficulties I have experienced (or am currently experiencing) that I can be thankful for? (e.g., What have I learned? How have I grown?)
The tragic earthquake/tsunami in Japan was so heartbraking... reading articles and watching clips of the event still make me cry and feel so devastated. I still find it hard to believe that it even happened. But there is something I've learned from all this. I've come to appreciate life even more. Watching and reading about the strong, resilient and positive people of my country, it's also apparent that I am even more proud that I am Japanese.
14. What is different today than it was a year ago that I'm thankful for?
I've gotten more students... And another BEAUUUUTIFUL year of marriage has gone by :)

Happy Halloween from Pooh & Friends
So here we are in our 2011 Halloween Costumes :)
I have loved Winnie-the-Pooh since I was a baby.
He continues to melt my heart and make me smile!
One of these days I'll post a picture of my Pooh bear collection :)
I'd never actually dressed up as Pooh, and with the big movie that came out this year, I thought I had to!
Here's the "hunny" pot I painted (originally a plant pot).
I usually spend more time on my actual costume than the prop but this year it was different!
I feel like I see Pooh doing this a lot
I love Christopher Robin!
(There couldn't be a better person to be my Christopher Robin!)
It was definitely my most comfortable and warmest costume ever haha.
Happy Halloween Everyone!
Stay safe!
P.S. Link up your costume posts on The Blue Eyed Owl blog tomorrow (Nov.1st) for a chance to win $20 credit to her shop AND have your button up on her blog for all of November!

a relaxing bear
Isn't this the cutest thing ever? It's my new Iphone case!! Everything about it is just to die for..
Look at those ears!!!!! And it's all made of silicone so no worries of it breaking :)
I got it at the cell phone accessories cart that my friend runs at the Irvine Spectrum.
They had other awesome ones like cassette tapes, chocolate bars, animal prints and morrrre!
This bear (Korilakkuma) is the best friend of the popular Japanese character Rilakkuma, a brown bear that likes to relax and sleep around.
speaking of bears.. I think I've decided I'll be Winnie the pooh (finally) for Halloween.
Winnie the Pooh has always been my hero and buddy since I was a baby,
and they made a movie this year, so how perfect right? ;)
I'm thinking up of creative ways to compose this costume. Furry ears, red shirt, yellow tights etc..
Ideas are welcome!!!!

great finds
Those darling Kathy Van Zeeland shoes you see above are believe it or not, from TJ Maxx!
MSRP is $80 but I got 'em for $34.99!!
What a deal.
I've been wanting and had been looking all over for nice leopard heels and finally found ones I truly liked.
The other two cute shirts are from TJ Maxx & Ross :) Once in a while you can find some great stuff at those stores.. I was lucky today :)

a dress from Japan
Some reasons why it is extra special:
1. My mom bought it for me me when I visited home (Japan) this summer
2. It was originally 80 bucks but was on sale for 40..or maybe 30...(what happened to my memory?)
3. Last but not least, it's my first yellow dress :)
What I'm sad about is, summer has gone so I don't know how much I can pull it off in the fall..
I guess I could wear a sweater over it...
But since I'm living in California, I could wear it for another couple weeks right? ;)
Anyway, what are y'all's must haves for Fall? Or what don't you wear in the Fall? besides the obvious tank tops and such ;) I'm sadly going to be putting away this top soon...
Anyway... I had a good rehearsal today with my acoustic duo buddy.
We hadn't performed together in a while but I can't tell you how excited I am that we will be performing next week at a singer songwriter showcase! Please come by if you're in the L.A. area :) Sunday, September 25th at the Tribal Cafe :)

Back from Japan & Bed in Breakfast!
Just got back last night from a relaxing and amazing two weeks in Japan.
It's always nice to visit home and spend time with my family.
I got to visit Hokkaido, Kyoto, Nara while mostly staying in Osaka and so as you can tell
I was a lucky girl...and had so much fun.
There are still so many places I'd love to visit in Japan though!
Anyway, I ate tons of good food because that's the only kind I eat lol,
went to two different stone spas--which btw are awesome and I'm going to be on the look out for one over here, visited the Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido, saw the best fireworks in Osaka, saw a bunch of deers in Nara, and swam in a big river for the first time ever, in the countryside of Kyoto. Those were the highlights of this trip...
Not as jet-lagged as I usually would be..I surprisingly slept for more than 12 hours today. Something I hadn't done in a while.. And I was woken up by my hubby to something like this:
except i had pancakes and eggs. But I thought this picture was lovely. And I thought my hubby was even more lovely. He remembered that I'd said d I'd never had breakfast in bed! How sweet of him..
What a great way to start the day :)
Will be posting some photos from Japan hopefully soon... and some outfit posts again soon.
Definitely had some happy times.. and they definitely keep me going! Motivation.

Done! It's done!
The benefit event for the recent Japan earthquake & tsunami at Peace Yoga which I put together was a great success!
If I may say so my self... :)
Lots of people showed up and lots of donations were made!
I enjoyed listening to MASXS play, they were very friendly and kind guys too.
Check out their band page on Facebook!
I felt really comfortable and confident singing with my band, even though I hadn't performed in 9 months!
I'm very thankful that I got to play with such talented members and am also thankful for their time they donated for this event. We played everything from reggae, bossa nova, jazz, to Japanese Pop :)
I unfortunately could only hear a little bit of my husband's band play, as I had to be at the entrance of the venue, but they sounded killin' as well... Many people were giving me compliments about his compositions and playing and I felt so proud once again to be the wife of such an amazing person & musician :)
He writes a lot and plays a lot. Check out Michael's music right here.
Me and my friend's dance act went pretty well too! I hadn't performed dance in NINE years! I had a blast! Will post a video of this here soon :)
We had some amazing raffle prizes, thanks again to all my generous sponsors!!!
I raised $886 just from the event! Isn't that amazing!???? I was so excited!
I'm still receiving and accepting donations though, before I send all the money to the Japanese Red Cross.
This event would have not been so successful though without the help of my friends, family, sponsors, and Cheri at Peace Yoga.
I met and communicated with many people and learned so much from them.
I realized that there are still so many generous people out there.
This event involved a lot of work, but it was all SO worth it.
I hope that people continue to think about our people in Japan, and continue to help them out as much as they can.
Many are still without homes, still grieving the loss of their loved ones, still in search for missing people..
My event is over (which I still can't quite believe), but I will continue to help and support as much as I can.
HOPE FOR JAPAN.
Happy things are ahead of us.

I heart my mommy :)
I wish my mommy lived closer.... (she's in Japan)
I miss her so much every day.
But I'm still so thankful for all she does for me,
all she has ever done for me,
and that she thinks of her children first no matter what,
where ever we are.
I told her this at our wedding, but I hope to be a mommy just like her some day.
I wish there was more I could do for her this mother's day,
but I'm thankful that I can at least send a card and FLOWERS (from anywhere in the world!!!)
Here's the bouquet I sent her :)
Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms/soon-to-be moms out there!
What are you going to do/did you do for your mother today?
More happy things are ahead of us!

UUPP gift card giveaway!
Today I'm very excited to feature a great artist, illustrator, mom of 3, and fellow blogger trying to spread smiles and love to people :)
Her prints are not only cute and fun but also inspirational and UPlifting!
They have definitely inspired and helped me, especially after the earthquake and tsunami hit my home country.
I can't imagine anyone not smiling when looking at her prints!
Just like me, she is a big foodie as you can see from her prints.
You can also tell how much she loves her home, and how much she "loves to love"!
Uplifting hearts through art...I need do more of this! To inspire and make people happy through my music, as well as my blog!
What inspired you to start making these prints?
I started making prints in response to some really difficult times I have had over the past few years. We all go through these times at some point. I really looked for things to help lift my spirit. I find hope, peace and love, through my family, friends and faith life. I started channeling my creativity into designing art prints of my favorite quotes, inspirational sayings, anything that was uplifting. I decided to open a store and name it UUPP (unique uplifting positive prints). That name seemed to capture everything. I have been overwhelmed with the response from people who have found something uplifting about my work. It feels really good to know that I am able to use my gifts for others in this small way! What are your goals? (with your prints, as well as in life!?)
As far as my Etsy store, I have more ideas than I could possibly create in a lifetime. I love that though. I am going to continue to make work from the heart.
What else do you enjoy doing? (other hobbies, talents, loves :) )
I absolutely love to garden, both flowers and vegetables. I also love to cook as you can probably tell by my Julia Child section in my store! When I am able to convince my teenage daughters to garden with me or cook with me, it makes it even sweeter. I also have a 2 year old and he loves to do both.
Today, she's offering one of my lucky readers a $10 gift card to her store!

Happy Friday , Happy Deals
Dress-Threadsence/Woven belt-Forever 21/Boots-Nine West
Happy Friday everyone!
Although my head looks really big in that first picture,
I'm excited that the number of my blog followers jumped from 6 to 23 in a matter of a few days!
Thanks to everyone that has entered my giveaway already!
If you haven't entered my giveaway for a bath & body works body cream, please do!
You have until tomorrow!
Today, I did lots of "wifey" things since I had the day off.
I'd never been to a laundromat until a week ago, and I went again today
(since I don't trust our inconsistent laundry facility at our apartment anymore...)
For some reason I always had this idea that laundromats are dirty and crowded and no fun...
But it is the exact OPPOSITE at this laundromat! So I've had a pleasant and happy experience
doing laundry for once haha.
My happy deal I wanted to mention was that it was my first time getting gas at Costco today
and yes, their gas is cheaper than any gas station around!
It may only be 10 cents or somethin' cheaper but money is money!
I'm sure you can all agree with me that we wanna save as much money as possible
with the ridiculously high gas prices!
Are they ever gonna go down again?
Since I cancelled my ticket to Japan in March,
I re-purchased my tickets for August.
I learned that you can potentially save a lot of money if you book an airline through their PARTNER
airline! It's a "code-share flight".
So I saved $300 for an ANA flight to Japan through the United website!
What are your tricks in saving money?
coupons? or even using energy efficient light bulbs?
water coolers over store bought water? hand making everything?
