Today I'm excited to be featuring and hosting a fun and creative giveaway from the lovely Debbie!

Here's a little bio of Debbie:

"Hi! My name is Debbie (you may or may not know me from my personal blog, [www.debbiecutieface.com] which I unfortunately haven't updated in a while!), and I am editor-in-chief of Vitality: the Magazine. There is nothing I love more in this world than writing, with photography and fashion illustration coming in at a close second. I grew up in multiple countries (I bet you've never heard of a Costa Rican Israeli before!) and have such a passion for finding beauty and art in this world. Currently, I go to school at Syracuse University for magazine journalism, although I hope to move to New York City after graduation."

Even though she says she hasn't updated her blog in a while, I'd still go check it out! It's super cute.

So Debbie has been working so hard on this magazine, that will finally be launching in May.

"Vitality Magazine provides a platform for aspiring artists in fashion, music, art, and literature by enabling them to publish, promote, and sell their work.
We've decided to start this magazine because up-and-coming artists lack a voice in the media. Come check us out!"

Sounds FANTASTIC to me.. especially being a musician my self!

Plus, this magazine is printed on 100% recycled paper and 10% of net proceeds go to nonprofit
organizations that support the arts!

How much more awesome can it get??
I'm looking forward to checking it out! Check out their Facebook page for photos and updates!

Now like Debbie mentioned, she also does illustrations.. this is a CUSTOM illustration she drew for me and I love it!

me and my microphone :)
I specifically asked if she could draw one of me singing in my favorite dress (and without shoes, because I sing barefooted on stage :) )
Here is another illustration with a "dream catcher" theme:

She does fabulous custom illustrations like the ones above and ones like these inspired by Andy Warhol:

Today, one reader will have a chance of winning a printed copy of the Preview issue of
the Vitality magazine PLUS their own CUSTOM ILLUSTRATION!

To enter, you must be a follower of this blog and comment below describing the outfit or theme you would want illustrated by Debbie! (1 entry)

For additional/optional entries:

what I wore this (frikkin' hot) weekend!

dress: urban outfitters, shoes: Blowfish shoes

It's back to sort of a cloudy, cool week. But it was super hot this past weekend!
and that called for a little pool party and margaritas!
top: urban outfitters, shorts: american eagle, bikini: Roxy, hat: Japan

I'm in love with this clutch.

I only own a couple clutches.
And I think it'd be nice to own several to choose from.. especially for those date nights or
house parties, or concerts you go to where you don't want to be carrying around a HUGE purse,
or have no where to put it. It'd be nice to have some fancy/more formal ones, as well as casual ones.
Go enter this giveaway for a chance to win it.

Simple Kinda Love

pants: flying monkey, shirt: Mango

What I wore today was SIMPLE, but comfy and loving :)
It was definitely shorts weather as it was 93degrees today...
But I ended up wearing these to create a contrast with my shirt.
My shirt is from Mango (MNG), which is my new favorite store!
This time I visited their store at the San Francisco airport.
It was a pleasant surprise to randomly find their store there.
PLUS, they were having a 30% off sale on everything!
The only sad thing is that there's only ONE location in the L.A. area.
I mustttt go to 3rd st Promenade asap!
They have stuff that is simple but can be cute or chic.. You can go various ways.
I didn't realize they had great prices also!
My royal blue denim pants were thrifted but by Flying Monkey. $13... score!

Looking forward to the "pool party" with my lovely Marissa tomorrow.
We'll be cooking up a storm as we dip in the pool from time to time :)

More happy things are ahead of us!

Sponsor feature: CampusBookRentals.com

Today's post features a sponsor of mine: CampusBookRentals.com.
As you can probably tell from their name, they rent text books and for great prices too.
You can actually save up to 90% off retail prices on certain books!!
Let's check out this one book called A History of Western Music,
which I actually used for my studies at college.
The list price is $70.99, but I could've rented it for $27.76 for a semester...64% off...
I wish that RENTING textbooks were an option for me back then!
Imagine how much money I could've saved.....
I guess I only saved a little by buying used books.
You can also choose the length of the renting period (semester, quarter, summer etc..) and you are ALLOWED to highlight in the books!!
I think if I remember correctly, my campus bookstore wouldn't buy back my books if I
had any sort of writing or highlights in them...
Plus, CampusBookRentals.com offers free shipping both ways. Yes, free shipping is always good!

So if you know anyone that is attending school and could be saving lots of money on text books,
let them know about this awesome website :)
