backless dress & hair do-over

When it's hot out... wear a backless dress hehe.

dress: Romwe, shoes: Kathy Van Zeeland

I love the softness and the FLOWY part about the dress! and the bow!
The dress color is a very light creamy pink color.. so it would go with many shoe colors.

So above is my hair "BEFORE" and this is my "AFTER" pic..
I feel so refreshed after getting my hair re-dyed and getting full bangs again!!!

Don't forget to enter the Acute Designs earrings of your choice giveaway!!!

3 ways to style a Wild Doll Romper

So here is one of my newest sponsor Wild Doll's Blue Crochet Bottom Romper (which also comes in cream and taupe). I am a sucker for rompers and this is a new favorite of mine!

Today, I'll be showing a few different ways you can style a romper like this!

Here I am wearing it simply with some nude pumps:

shoes: GoJane

Added a black bow belt and black bow boots to match that
boots: Nine West, belt: Japan
I probably need a necklace too !!!

let's take it up a notch!
hat & vest: Japan

and if you want it a little more casual but still interesting...
shoes: Threadsence, hat: Japan, denim shirt: Cotton On

So as you can see, it's pretty versatile! I love how you can make it look casual, but also dressy!
You could definitely try out different belts, and substitute a plain black vest for the plaid one I wore, wear knee high boots (which I unfortunately don't own), and so on and so on :)
The top part is a very soft material, there is a zipper along the side so no worries of stretching anything when you're putting it on! Check out their shop for other cute rompers, shoes, and dresses!!!

First purchase ever from GoJane. They have cute stuff for awesome prices! check 'em out!

a colorful Sunday

dress: Urban Outfitters, shoes: Japan
Boy, was it hot this weekend!
Perfect weather for this kind of dress!  I bought it over a month ago and finally had the chance to wear it :) I have a ton of solid-one-color dresses, but never have really owned such a vibrant and multi-colored dress.
I've had these mint green heels for a while and I think I've found a perfect match for them :)
Although, I wear those heels with anything anyway!

Is it summer dress weather where you are yet?

Boy Meets Girl & Young Survival Coalition

me wearing Boy Meets Girl's Drama Queen Tee
buy any of their shirts with hearts and 10% of sales will be donated to YSC

I have been gone from the face of earth.. I have been sick from a cold, and as I was getting better,
I caught a nasty flu... :(
But I am back to being healthy!
And this post needed to be written earlier... :( but better now than never!!
I wish I could do a full-on outfit post, but that will unfortunately have to come by another time.

So, one of my lovely sponsors Boy Meets Girl and their CEO, Stacy Igel, are active supporters of Young Survival Coalition who she happens to be co-chair of as well! They help raise awareness of breast cancer.

TODAY, Young Survival Coalition (YSC) will hold its eleventh annual In Living Pink gala to raise funds to support, educate and empower young women with breast cancer. Young Survival Coalition is the premier global organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Using in informative interactive website, education resources and programs, YSC’s goal is that young women feel supported, empowered and hopeful and most importantly, are not left to face breast cancer alone. Stacy lost a friend to the disease several years ago, so she understands the importance of raising breast cancer awareness to young women, and her peers.

Plus, if you buy any of their "campus candy" shirts, 10% of the sales will be donated to YSC.
Do a good deed, buy and donate!!!
Their shirts are seriously the smoothest and most comfortable shirts ever!

So if you are in the NY area today, stop by their event featuring tons of cool prizes, food, and great music! You could win not only Boy Meets Girl products but take a look at the prize donors list.. really makes me wish I lived in NY!!!

If any one does go or has ever gone to the event, please comment and let me know!

what I wore this (frikkin' hot) weekend!

dress: urban outfitters, shoes: Blowfish shoes

It's back to sort of a cloudy, cool week. But it was super hot this past weekend!
and that called for a little pool party and margaritas!
top: urban outfitters, shorts: american eagle, bikini: Roxy, hat: Japan

I'm in love with this clutch.

I only own a couple clutches.
And I think it'd be nice to own several to choose from.. especially for those date nights or
house parties, or concerts you go to where you don't want to be carrying around a HUGE purse,
or have no where to put it. It'd be nice to have some fancy/more formal ones, as well as casual ones.
Go enter this giveaway for a chance to win it.

Simple Kinda Love

pants: flying monkey, shirt: Mango

What I wore today was SIMPLE, but comfy and loving :)
It was definitely shorts weather as it was 93degrees today...
But I ended up wearing these to create a contrast with my shirt.
My shirt is from Mango (MNG), which is my new favorite store!
This time I visited their store at the San Francisco airport.
It was a pleasant surprise to randomly find their store there.
PLUS, they were having a 30% off sale on everything!
The only sad thing is that there's only ONE location in the L.A. area.
I mustttt go to 3rd st Promenade asap!
They have stuff that is simple but can be cute or chic.. You can go various ways.
I didn't realize they had great prices also!
My royal blue denim pants were thrifted but by Flying Monkey. $13... score!

Looking forward to the "pool party" with my lovely Marissa tomorrow.
We'll be cooking up a storm as we dip in the pool from time to time :)

More happy things are ahead of us!

a dress from Japan

I love this dress<3
Some reasons why it is extra special:
1. My mom bought it for me me when I visited home (Japan) this summer
2. It was originally 80 bucks but was on sale for 40..or maybe 30...(what happened to my memory?)
3. Last but not least, it's my first yellow dress :)

What I'm sad about is, summer has gone so I don't know how much I can pull it off in the fall..
I guess I could wear a sweater over it...
But since I'm living in California, I could wear it for another couple weeks right? ;)

Anyway, what are y'all's must haves for Fall? Or what don't you wear in the Fall? besides the obvious tank tops and such ;) I'm sadly going to be putting away this top soon...

Anyway... I had a good rehearsal today with my acoustic duo buddy.
We hadn't performed together in a while but I can't tell you how excited I am that we will be performing next week at a singer songwriter showcase! Please come by if you're in the L.A. area :) Sunday, September 25th at the Tribal Cafe :)

More happy things are ahead of us!

Happy Friday , Happy Deals

Dress-Threadsence/Woven belt-Forever 21/Boots-Nine West

Happy Friday everyone!

Although my head looks really big in that first picture,
I'm excited that the number of my blog followers jumped from 6 to 23 in a matter of a few days!
Thanks to everyone that has entered my giveaway already!
If you haven't entered my giveaway for a bath & body works body cream, please do!
You have until tomorrow!

Today, I did lots of "wifey" things since I had the day off.
I'd never been to a laundromat until a week ago, and I went again today
(since I don't trust our inconsistent laundry facility at our apartment anymore...)
For some reason I always had this idea that laundromats are dirty and crowded and no fun...
But it is the exact OPPOSITE at this laundromat! So I've had a pleasant and happy experience
doing laundry for once haha.

My happy deal I wanted to mention was that it was my first time getting gas at Costco today
and yes, their gas is cheaper than any gas station around!
It may only be 10 cents or somethin' cheaper but money is money!
I'm sure you can all agree with me that we wanna save as much money as possible
with the ridiculously high gas prices!
Are they ever gonna go down again?

Since I cancelled my ticket to Japan in March,
I re-purchased my tickets for August.
I learned that you can potentially save a lot of money if you book an airline through their PARTNER
airline! It's a "code-share flight".
So I saved $300 for an ANA flight to Japan through the United website!

What are your tricks in saving money?
coupons? or even using energy efficient light bulbs?
water coolers over store bought water? hand making everything?
